Downtown comes alive. On the first Friday of every month you’ll find artists, musicians and all things creative converge on Marina Arts District. Live music in La Retama Park, food trucks serving up South Texas fare and art galleries featuring local and national artists. Shop in the park from local arts and crafts vendors outside then find a nice watering hole to duck into for a quick drink or to grab a bite to eat. Enjoy the talents of your neighbors or showcase your own as you revel in the sights and sounds of Corpus Christi’s creative community.
Wake up and lace up because on the first Sunday of every month locals and visitors have created somewhat of a morning ritual. Good for the body and good for the soul, view seekers rejoice once they make their trek across Corpus Christi’s famed Harbor Bridge. Masterpiece in a Day
2017 Date has been set! Mark your calendar for October 14, 2017 for this wonderful event featuring our local artists of all types! Make art. Be art. Buy art. Scuplt, paint, draw, sing, or write poems? However you choose to express yourself, you could win prizes. Participating is easy. Just bring your own art supplies, create something, turn it in by the deadline and see who the judges think was the most creative. Plus, enjoy art exhibitions, a parade and so much more. Downtown becomes the canvas and you become the artist as the community comes together to create a masterpiece in day.
Dia de los Muertos
The Dia de los Muertos celebration has gone on for centuries in Mexico. By presenting the Dia de los Muertos festival in Corpus Christi we provide educational programming about our cultural diversity and an opportunity for each of us to learn about this rich cultural tradition of Mexico. We hope to create a connection to our past, as well as honoring loved ones who have passed away. Recognized as one of the top 10 festivals of its kind in the US by MSN, the event has grown to almost 70,000+ in attendance.

Handpick an original at our weekly Farmers’ Market. Every Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Corpus Christi Art Center, find fresh veggies, produce, and locally raised beef and chicken, as well as handmade soaps and other essentials. Grown or made by local and regional farmers and artisans. This is art in its most natural form. Come enjoy live folk music and coffee as you peruse the plentiful selection of goods from you neighbors.
Happening before your eyes, nearly 50 artist booths, live art demonstrations, air brush painting, steamroller printmaking, aluminum pour, make your own raku fired pottery, Family Art Time MEGA TENT, theater performances, art installations, food trucks, bars, live music and more on Labor Day weekend.
St. Patty’s Day Block Festival
Guzzle some green beer and dance a few Irish jigs. You won’t find a better place to celebrate St. Patty’s Day then in the Marina Arts District. This annual festival has broken attendance records every year since its inception. Hosted by Cassidy’s Irish Pub, this all day festival features live Celtic music, food vendors and plenty of camaraderie. Plus, find out who will be the next Irishman or Irishwoman of the year. Mark your calendar every year for March 17 and make plans to be in the Marina Arts District.
Wednesday Night Regatta
Our Wednesday evening sailing regattas happen 52 weeks out of the year. The longest running weekly sailing regatta in the United States, you’ll find everything from novices to nautical know-it-alls. The sails are a great compliment to the already spectacular sunsets served up daily at the marina. Join a group or just watch them launch their crafts from the bleachers at the Lawrence Street T-Head park.
