The Corpus Christi Area Heritage Society is pleased to announce that Centennial House aka The Britton/Evans House, located at 411 N. Upper Broadway in Corpus Christi be open for tours on Sunday, February 7th, from Noon – 4pm.  The cost is $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for children under 12.  Centennial House was built in 1849 by Rebecca and Forbes Britton on land acquired from Col. Henry Kinney, the founder of Corpus Christi, and is the oldest house in Corpus Christi still on its original site.  The House, in its day, commanded a breathtaking view of the largest commercial pier in the City, Mann’s Wharf.   The next scheduled public opening will be Sunday, March 6th, from Noon – 4pm.  For more information, or to schedule a special tour for parties of 10 or more, call 361-882-8691.
