BridgeWalk - Marina Arts District in Corpus Christi, TX
Part of the Corpus Christi First weekend the BridgeWalk always takes place on the Sunday following ArtWalk and ArtWalk always takes place on the first Friday of every month. This means that the BridgeWalk is NOT always on the first Sunday of the month: e.g. February, March, August, and November 2015 it takes place on the second Sunday of the month! Always check the website for time and date details; better still, always register on Eventbrite for the walk. A link to each event will always appear on www.bridgewalkcc.com.
The walk, as posted, is 6020 yards or 3.42 miles. If you do not follow the signage then your route may vary from the measured event. Either way you should have fun and great photo opportunities. If you are really lucky the walk will coincide with a tanker entering or leaving port. There’s nothing quite like viewing one of these huge ships “close up” from the walkway of the bridge.
If walking the “High Bridge” is not for you there is an alternate walk which sets off at the same time but heads up to Shoreline , winds around the Peoples Street T-Head and returns to Heritage Park. This walk also qualifies towards the BridgeWalk T-shirt program – participate 5 times in one of our healthy activities and you qualify for a free, can’t be bought, T-Shirt. [for the avoidance of doubt this means turning out to 5 different events on 5 different months] Registering with Eventbrite enters you into the free raffle to win monthly give aways from local sponsors valued between $50 and $75. Prize draw winners will be announced at approx. 8:15am followed by the group photograph and the walk will commence at 8:30am.
You should register for each activity you intend to participate in on the day; the more tickets you “buy” the more entries you have in the prize draw. Choosing “Bridge Walker” will not prevent you from participating in a Yoga session. However if you only intend to participate in Yoga choose that ticket type.
