More than 70 people gathered at the Holiday Inn Marina to hear about the Downtown branding and website development process. DMD Chairman, Harold Shockley welcomed the enthusiastic group. Terry Sweeney, DMD Executive Director provided an overview of the process, goals and outcomes. He also shared with the audience that it is part of the broader Downtown Revitalization Initiative funded by the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ). Stephen Rybak with Morehead Dotts Rybak (MDR) presented details about the branding process and timeline.
The audience was then asked to provide input, observations and inspiration on
sheets posted around the room as they enjoyed wine and appetizers and discussed their thoughts about Downtown’s future.

Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (DMD), City of Corpus Christi and the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) Board have created a new public-private partnership to provide revitalization services to the greater downtown area. The services include:
•Management and Operations Services: create a cleaner, safer, more beautiful and accessible Downtown area
•Development & Improvement Services: attract new businesses, development and residences; support businesses, improve existing buildings and urban design.
•Marketing Services: branding and promotion to increase sales, visitors and investment and improve Downtown’s image and visibility.
•Public Private Partnership Development Service: recruit financial resources to support this initiative.
