“Tidal Shift” features current work by the talented Corpus Christi artists who are the dedicated faculty of the TAMU-CC Department of Art and Design. This exhibition also highlights the variety and skill of successful artists and scholars at the forefront of their fields recruited from throughout North America by TAMU-CC. Creative research activities for these energetic individuals begins in their studios and extends to museums and galleries across the globe. In the fourth incarnation of this exhibition series, “Tidal Shift” emphasizes the caliber of art expertise located here in south Texas. Contributing Artists include: Meg Aubrey, Dr. Amanda Garcia, Jennifer Garza-Cuen, Rich Gere, Jack Gron, Louis Katz, Kevin Mercer, Nancy Miller, Ryan O’Malley, Joe Pena, Dr. Laura Petican, and Greg Reuter.

In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. In the Heights is the winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations.

Corpus Christi’s longest running Open Mic Night. Hosted by Ray Summy, every Wednesday. Enjoy an evening on our patio while listening to local talent. Sign up starts at 7pm.

Join us for some “wild rumpus” fun in this monster of a class! We’ll read Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and then create our own version of a “wild thing” with textures and patterns on paper.
This Program is for children ages 2-5 (preschool) accompanied by an adult helper. RSVPs and payment two business days in advance are required. Parents are invited to bring a small snack for their child to enjoy during storytime.

Unwined from the work week by joining Water Dog Friday evenings on the floating deck for Happy Hour!

Appreciate the sun setting over the city from one of the the best spots in the Corpus Christi Marina!
You can view a spectacular sunset from the top deck of the houseboat studio.

This will be a 75min calming all levels yoga class that will include a warm up building to sun salutions, and some foundational poses and flows then finally WINEding down our practice and finishing with a savasana or seated meditation watching the sun set.

**Each yogi will receive a complimentary bottle of water and Water Dog koozie along with glass or two of wine or yogi tea to help wine down from the week and create a relaxing, fun community atmosphere**

EVENT DETAILS:

This special event is specifically designed for those students who are new to SUP (Stand Up Paddleboards) and/or those new to Yoga.
The emphasis of this workshop is getting yogis comfortable on the water and on their floating mats.
The workshop is designed with modifications to make beginners feel comfortable on the boards- even if they have never done SUP or Yoga before!

The workshop will be lead by Stacie Richline:
Stacie Richline is a RYT-200 Yoga instructor trained at Black Swan Yoga in Austin, Texas
Stacie is SUP Yoga certified receiving her training with Limitless SUP in Austin Texas, called “The SUP captial of the world”.
She has taught group fitness and yoga all over and locally at Gold’s Gym, Corpus Christi Athletic Club, Bayside Pilates and The Yoga Studio of Corpus Christi

WHAT TO EXPECT
-On deck discussion about the paddleboards, paddling technique and water safety
-Dynamic warm up on the deck
-Brief paddle to a fixed anchor point where you will clip in your board
-Modifications for beginners and mindful transitions between poses and exercises
-Extra time after class to practice paddling (weather permitting)

WATER DOG’S LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS:

You will turn onto Coopers Ally L-Head from Shoreline Drive going towards the marina.
The Corpus Christi Yacht Club will be on your left. Drive straight back to the end of the parking lot on the right.
The entrance to marina slips S, T & U are on the right. Park anywhere available.
Water Dog Floating Deck is at slip T5 in the middle.
The gate to the marina entrance is normally locked.
PLEASE ARRIVE 10 MINUTES BEFORE CLASS as someone from Water Dog will be there to open the gate and escort you to the floating deck
