One of Downtown Corpus Christi’s most beautiful and iconic features is the Corpus Christi Bay. A lot of us don’t get to spend as much time as we’d like on the water, so we are here to help! Check out everything there is to do downtown ‘On the Water’.
Water Dog Floating Yoga
Looking for a way to get on the water and exercise? Look no further than Water Dog Floating Yoga. This downtown staple is the premier SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) yoga studio in South Texas. It’s a perfect way for locals and visitors alike to visit the Corpus Christi Marina and connect with the great outdoors. And it’s dog-friendly! Because is there anything better than an adorable pup doing some sup?!
Wednesday Night Regatta
Marina Arts Districts’ Wednesday evening sailing regattas happen 52 weeks out of the year. The longest-running weekly sailing regatta in the United States, you’ll find everything from novices to nautical know-it-alls. The sails are a great compliment to the already spectacular sunsets served up daily at the marina. Join a group or just watch them launch their crafts from the bleachers at the Lawrence Street T-Head park.
Cruise around the bay and experience the Corpus Christi Bay like never before! The Texas Tease is a 74-foot party boat that does every kind of cruise you could need. Don’t worry, there’s A/C on the first deck while the upper deck is open air. It’s available for public and private charters so party on the high seas!
Downtown Corpus Christi wouldn’t be the same without Harrison’s Landing. This family-owned icon has been providing customers with on the water dining experiences for as long as we can remember. The floating docks, live music, and incredible food are tough to beat!
If you’re in the mood for a little more adventure, Japonica is the place for you. Located right next to Harrison’s Landing, this 50-foot open-air touring boat allows you to take in the sights of Downtown Corpus Christi from the water. Experience the bay breeze and salty air while viewing the best of downtown.
Seasoned and first-time sailors are welcome on the Sailing Charters departing from Harrison’s Landing. The two-hour bay cruise is perfect for date nights, family outings or whatever the sea is calling you to do. If you’re adventurous enough to take a meal on the water, make sure to choose their cruise and dinner package! Let all your worries melt away as you sail across the open water.
Lastly, Harrison’s Landing also offers yachting team-building experiences. Want to test your skills as a team and get some fresh sea air? This exercise is designed for teams of all skill levels and requires no previous sailing experience! Build better communication, problem-solving skills, strategic planning and everything in between with this unique excursion!
If you want to get on the water but like something more solid under your feet, the USS Lexington is for you. This Corpus Christi treasure is dripping in history and learning experiences for the whole family. The “Blue Ghost” features a flight simulator, self-guided tours of the flight deck, an escape room and so much more! This Essex-class aircraft carrier also offers some incredible views of Downtown Corpus Christi.
Texas State Aquarium
I know what you’re thinking, the aquarium isn’t technically “on the water”, but we’re saying it’s close enough. Fun fact; the exhibits are replenished with seawater collected from the Corpus Christi Bay! Stop by to view some of their nationally recognized exhibits and say “hi” to some of your favorite underwater friends. Don’t forget to visit the 68-foot-long acrylic window at the H-E-B Caribbean Sea exhibit, it’s the longest in North America!
Every choice is a good choice when it comes to enjoying the water in Downtown Corpus Christi!
